The NHS Health check is a check-up of your overall health. It can tell you whether you are at higher risk of getting certain health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and stroke.
The check is for people who are aged 40 – 74 who do not have any pre-existing medication conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, stroke etc.

New Patient Health Checks
All newly registered patients will be invited to attend for a blood test and a new patient health check with the Practice Nurse. The Practice Nurse will perform various checks including blood pressure, weight and offer dietary and lifestyle advice etc.
Mental Health Practitioner
We have an in-house Mental Health Practitioner who has a clinic on a Friday. Patients will be referred via the GP or ANP.

The Practice Nurse offers appointments for the following immunisations. If you think you are eligible please contact reception to enquire.

Hypertension Clinic
Patients with high blood pressure are seen regularly in clinic which is aimed at helping patients with high blood pressure cope with their condition by providing advice on lifestyle, diet and monitoring the use of medication.
Pharmacist
We have in-house Pharmacist’s available Tuesday – Thursday who offer a range of services such as thorough medication reviews, deal with any medication or prescription queries, hypertension clinic etc.
Respiratory Clinic
Patients with Asthma / COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) are seen regularly in clinic which is run by our Practice Nurse and is designed to help patients with respiratory problems to cope with their condition by providing instructions on monitoring and the use of medication.
Social Prescribers
Social Prescribers give people time, focusing on “what matters to me?” to co-produce a support plan which allows people to take control of their health and wellbeing. They can connect people to activities, groups and services in our community.

Women’s Health
Helen, our Advanced Nurse Practitioner, has a keen interest in women’s health and has clinics on Monday’s and Tuesday’s.
Diabetes Clinic
Diabetes, if poorly treated can lead to a number of other medical problems affecting eyes, heart, kidney and circulation. For this reason it is important to have regular check-ups with our Practice Nurse.
We also encourage patients with diabetes to be actively involved in their own care, particularly with careful diet and home blood testing.
Patients with diabetes are seen regularly by our Practice Nurse and is aimed to help patients cope with their condition by providing advice on lifestyle, diet and medication. All patients with diabetes are invited to attend for a blood test, diabetic review, eye screening and podiatry screening.
